So, those of you who know me well, know that I LOVE Christmas! I hate to be stressed around the holiday so I try to buy things throughout the year when they are on sale.
On top of that, every year I do some homemade gifts too. I like to know my plans for Christmas gifting by March. Then I just start buying supplies and whatever I need while I am buying all the non-homemade stuff.
For me, Planning = no stress around the holidays. Who would like to guess how that worked out for me and my procrastinating bum this year?
Let me put it to you like this...
I have 5 sewing projects, 5 craft projects, 2 scrapbooking things and 6 canning.
Things completed...
2 sewing projects.
6 canning
In my defense I am very close to finishing the 5 craft projects and I have just started the scrapbooking stuff.
Next year's goal: Give my self a month per homemade project to complete it! And stop picking so many long projects! Seriously, what was I thinking?!
Hmmm? Whats that you say?......Oh, set a goal, and then actually reach it. Intriguing concept!
Childish rant over, you may now return to your daily activities.

A beloved and unliked book
My in laws gave my husband a book entitled "Sh*t my kids ruined" by Julie Haas Brophy.
It is filled with stories about kids and the havoc they can wreak. Just to make us realize that our little guy is not the only one that destroys:)
Unlike the title of the book, I actually really love this book! Its filled with fun quotes and tips for parents. Plus some pretty scary, funny, and yes, gross stories and pictures of things kids have done at home. Here are some of my favorite quotes form the book:
"A two year old is kind of like having a blender, but you don't have a top for it."
- Jerry Seinfeld
"Cleaning the house while the kids are still growing is like shoveling the walk before it stops snowing" - Phyllis Diller
"People often ask me, 'What's the difference between couplehood and babyhood?' In a word? MOISTURE. Everything in your life is now more moist. Between your spittle, your diapers, your spit up and drool, you get your baby food, your wipes, your formula, your leaky bottles, sweaty baby backs, and numerous untraceable sources - All creating an ever-present moistness in my life, which heretofore was mainly dry."
- Paul Reiser
These are just a few examples of the awesomeness that is in this book! Check it out:)

First date stories
I started dating Tauno back in High school. He was a wrestler at his High school in Murray . He was 16 and I was almost 18. On our first date, we went to the movies and then he took me to a restaurant and gave me no warning that he was "Famous" at this particular location because he always went there after weigh ins for wrestling and ate like 3 or 4 entrées.
I remember walking in and all the waiters knew him and I just sat there in amazement as he ordered 3 dinners for himself. But, what was even more fun was having like 10 staff members sit behind the bar and watch him eat to see if he could finish everything! I wouldn't be surprised if there was betting going on between them. The surprising thing is, that it was so much fun. We went to play pool after that at a bowling alley downtown and he kicked my trash. Then we went back to my parents and took a walk around the neighborhood for a while! It was so much fun!
If you have a first date story you would like to tell, no matter if it is embarrassing, funny, gross or horrendous, please share! No judgment here just leave a comment! It's fun to read each others stories:)
If you want to share but, do not want it in a comment, go to the 'contact me' tab at the top of the blog and email me!

Ah, to be young again...wait im only 27:)
Something great happened to me this morning. That I just had to share:)
So, my daughter rides to school in a carpool with our friends who live across the street. Today, they were pulling up to the house and Tauno, me and the boys were outside saying goodbye to her.
Tauno had just returned home from working all night and so we were hugging for a little bit (Just hugging). Even after Trin left, we were talking and then we hugged goodbye as I was leaving and he was going to bed. When our friend across the street yells over..."Hey, knock it off, you two! Get a room!" (Totally kidding) We laughed so hard! I haven't had anyone say that to us since we were 17 and dating! But I have to admit that it felt nice to know we're not as old as we feel sometimes.
